Part of the network of Triangle Workshops and arranged by Kuona trust. Some 20 local and international artists worked in the hardwood forest for 2 weeks. Here tropical giants and strange vines soar above the rich red earth. But as Nairobi has grown to surround this forest reserve, more and more trees are taken by poachers. Many of the artists were inspired to make work that referred to this violence. My earth-and-grass pieces were conceived as guardians of the trees.
